The "Blue Dream" Water Cube model
(BEIJING, April 16) -- Licensed by the organizers of the Beijing Olympic Games, two scale models of the National Aquatics Center (also known as the "Water Cube") were unveiled in Beijing on Wednesday.
The "Blue Symphony," a 1:1000 scale model of the Water Cube, features 13,500 grains of manmade crystal, imported from Austria, carved into blue bubbles that send forth a unique brightness. The five mascots of the Beijing Olympics were standing beside model in the display. The interior of the product is gold-plated and includes such details as spectator seats, swimming pools, a diving pool and platform. The product is priced at 16,800 yuan with a circulation of 5,000 pieces.

The "Blue Dream," a model made of blue glass, represents the membrane structure of the project and perfectly implies an aquatic world. Its interior is plated with silver. In addition, illuminating colors can be seen from the bottom, mimicking the night view of the "Water Cube." The product is priced at 3,900 yuan, and its circulation is limited to 30,000 pieces.
Starting now, the two products can be found at all Olympic licensed gift shops nationwide.
