Description:
The National Stadium-"Bird Nest" is the major stadium of the Beijing2008 Olympic Games.
Its configuration looks like a nest gestating new lives¸ more like a cradle pinning hope for mankind´s future. The outside structure of the "Nest" is mainly composed of colossal door-like steel frame¸ including 24 columns. Constructed in length of 333 meters of major axis and 298 meters of minor axis¸ the top of the "Nest" is in a saddle-like shape with a peak of 68.5 meters and nadir of 42.8 meters.
